Contextual Overview:
“The World Preservation Lab and BioVault” invited the visitors to step into a striking pop-up experience designed by Galerija 12, championing a novel Museum of the Future initiative, developed in collaboration with Colossal Biosciences and launched at the World Governments Summit in Dubai.
We are thrilled to have conceived and designed the experience that introduced the visitors to the cutting-edge conservation technologies and endeavours. Galerija 12 produced the exhibition and developed the innovative creative technologies behind the eye-catching exhibits. The exhibition pop-up drew a record crowd at the prestigious World Government Summit event and was visited by renowned world leaders and thinkers.
Technological Overview:
We conceived the experience in two chapters to introduce the audience to the urgency of addressing the biodiversity loss and to showcase the groundbreaking de-extinction and conservation work undertaken by Colossal Biosciences. Galerija 12 designed the BioVault prototype on display, which will eventually be housed in the Museum of the Future and will host genetic materials from animal species worldwide.
Bringing extinct species to life as a captivating visual display entailed prototyping custom moving holographic projections overlaid onto 3D-printed animal skeletons, synchronising video content with mechanical movements and blurring the line between the digital and physical worlds. Galerija 12’s skilled artisanal department also built an impressive life-size mammoth skull replica that was overlaid with projected digital content.
