Contextual Overview:
Galerija 12 crafted dozens of bespoke models and physical interactives adorning the Light and Peace Museum of the imposing Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in Abu Dhabi. The religious site and place of worship at the heart of Abu Dhabi welcomes over 6 million worshippers and visitors annually. The Light and Peace Museum showcases scientific, literary, and historical works that reflect the depth of Islamic civilisation and its interactions with diverse world cultures.
G12 collaborated with Design PM, Barker Langham and NGX Interactive to fabricate the exhibits in the museum. We contributed to the design and produced models, tactile exhibits and hands-on interactives across the exhibition. Spanning over 2000 sqm, the Light and Peace Museum features an array of rich content, including sensory and interactive experiences, precious artefacts, and artworks that blend tradition with creativity.
Technological Overview:
Galerija 12 contributed to the design and fabricated over 20 exhibits across various exhibit typologies, including models, tactile objects, mechanical and electronic interactives and fit-out interventions. We successfully collaborated with a vast network of design teams, content and software developers, fit-out contractors and AV planners to integrate our work into the exhibition. Galerija 12 joined the project at the pre-production stage, developing bespoke manufacturing methods and fully fabricating and integrating exhibits on-site.
We crafted bespoke technological and fabrication pipelines to ensure each exhibition piece is manufactured with care and attention to detail. Our refined model replicas are high fidelity and durable. The hands-on interactives feature elaborate custom electronic solutions to ensure seamless integration with hardware and software systems and continuous operation.
